Start of the Season

So this weekend was the start of the hockey season! Training camps started for everyone of 30 teams across the country and there are only 17 days left until the regular season starts. Every team is trying to decide which players are going to make the cut.

The Penguins have their fair share of troubles deciding who is going to be on their team. With the loss of Jordan Staal for the first few weeks of the season the Pens need to look for a new player to take his spot. Mark Letestu and Eric Tangradi seem to be the ones battling it out for it. It looks like right now that Letestu is ahead of Tangradi.

The line ups so far that have gone down are for the offense (for sure):

Dupuis Crosby Kunitz

Malkin Comrie Tangradi

Some of the combos that are possible for the last 2 lines are:

Cooke Talbot Asham (This line could be interesting because of the Cooke/Asham biting Situation that took place while Ahsam was on the Flyers. And apparently they've "hugged" it out)

Rupp Adams Letestu (But Letestu really could go anywhere. Possibly switch with Max)

We just need to buckle up for this season. It's going to get interesting.

Intro

Hello everyone!

My name is Jamie and I am definitly a Pittsurgh fan! I love all of the Pittsburgh sports teams, yes even the Pirates. So, basically I'll be blogging a lot about what has happened so far in the Pittsburgh sports world. But, I also have quite the passion for hockey so I'll be talking about hockey probably the most.

Some bad news for the Penguins that was just announced this morning is that Jordan Staal (J Staal) will be out for the beginning of the regular season. Kind of depressing, because I believe that he is an important asset to our team. Hopefully though the Pens will be able to bring up Tangradi from the Baby Pens and have him play for the team during the time that Staal is out.

Another depressing note is that Billy Guerin is probably signing with the Flyers. This is very comparable to Gonchar signing with the Senator, possibly even worse than that. I don't understand why Billy would even think about signing with the Flyers after all of the bad blood that is between our teams. But, on the other hand, Arron Asham signed with the Penguins.

To end on a good note, Marc Staal finally resigned with the Rangers. It would have truly been a tragedy if Jordan's brother would not have had a team to be on this season!
